CSS Viewer
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 30 June 2026
CSS Viewer is built so that your data never leaves your device.
What we collect
Nothing. The extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Specifically:
- The element styles it shows are read entirely inside your browser (via the standard
getComputedStyle) and are never uploaded. - We do not use analytics, tracking, cookies, advertising, or fingerprinting.
- The extension makes no network requests of any kind. There is no server, no database, and no account.
- Nothing you inspect or copy is logged or retained after you close the panel.
How it works
When you turn the inspector on and hover an element, CSS Viewer reads that element's computed styles locally and displays them in a panel. Clicking a value copies it to your clipboard. All of this runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Permissions
The extension requests only activeTab and scripting — and no host permissions. This means it runs only on the tab where you click the toolbar icon, it reads that page's styles solely to display them to you, and it does not modify, store, or transmit the page's content.
Third parties
None. No data is shared with any third party, because no data is collected.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this same location with a new effective date.
